Getting a new puppy is amazing. Having years of amazing memories is fulfilling. Finding places to visit with your fur babies can be a very challenging experience.
This is why we have made this list.
1 – Cups Canteen – Mount Duneed (Recommended)
The staff at Cups Canteen are always friendly and up for a chat. Craig is an artist on the coffee machine, knowing what settings to adjust and when… when there is changes in the weather… to give the most consistently amazing coffee.
Steph is an amazing baker! Always keeping their goodies cabinet stocked full of delicious savoury and sweet treats.
Darb’s Doggy Delights (Facebook), keeps the dog treats stocked with their amazing and (I assume) delicious dog biscuits.
With a friendly and welcoming location, football ovals a short stroll away for the pooch play, and great coffee and food, Cups Canteen is a great place to visit.
2 – The Salty Dog - Torquay (Facebook)
Situated on Fisherman’s beach, with an amazing outlook, friendly staff, wonderful food and a pretty decent drop of the black gold called coffee. The Salty Dog is an amazing place to take man’s best friend. A relaxed and welcoming vibe to sit in and have a coffee and a feed, alternatively, grab your goodies and head over to the beach and let you pooch go for a run or a swim (although during peak summer season there is a restriction on dog access).
3 – Hello Birdie – Ocean Grove
Hello Birdie, is a cute little café which has an amazing and imaginative play space out the back for the kids, and a nice run area for the dogs. Unfortunately, the kid area is out the back and the dog area is out the front, so if you have both you may find this location slightly challenging.
Coffee is good, food is delicious, especially their bacon and egg rolls.
4 – Cheeky Cow – Ocean Grove (Facebook)
We stumbled upon this little gem, looking for beach access to run our dog. It was good coffee with space out the front to sit with your pooch (there may be more but we didn't get to see). Alternatively, the beach is a short walk over the dunes and from memory is dog friendly all year round unless the local council has changed the access.
5 – Third Wave Kiosk - Torquay (Facebook)
Situated at the Torquay back beach, the Third Wave Kiosk provides great coffee, a delicious menu and lots of things you may or may not need at the beach. Take away is the key here… because that is all there is. But the view over Torquay surf beach is an amazing place to wait with your pup. Once you get your order the Torquay back beach has an awesome walk up to Point Danger or just to sit on the grassy area in front of the Kiosk.
6 – Cafe Zoo - Drysdale (Facebook)
I stumbled on this little gem on the way to an interview a few years ago. Cute and quirky, with friendly staff, and a lovely area to spend with your fur babies. Decent food and coffee.
Despite it only being a quick visit, Café Zoo certainly left a lasting impression.
7 – Sailor’s Rest – Geelong (Facebook)
Situated across the road from the Geelong foreshore, Sailor’s Rest has an amazing dining area out the front where you can dine with your dog. When we visited there were several pups relaxing out in the sunshine as their owners enjoyed their coffee and brunch.
Sailor’s Rest has good service, friendly staff, delicious food and nice coffee.
If you don’t want to sit and enjoy the dine in experience, you can always take away and head over the road to enjoy the waterline and grassy areas.
There are many more wonderful eateries in our amazing area.
